One man’s junk is another man’s treasure!

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

We are collecting used test books and backpacks for the children at the After School Program (ASP) in Liberia, and we need your help!

Rilo Connect has been working with the ASP for over a year now, helping children of former child soldier to find their way in society.

Currently, 20 children have received a scholarship at different schools. For another 20 kids, daily primary and secondary study classes are organized so that they can maximize their grades and get preparing for the next opportunity to a scholarship. Children from the age of 5 to 17 are receiving education from 8 trained volunteer teachers that were trained by the IDEFOCS'S counsellor.

At this time, even more children won't have the opportunity to go to school as a result of the unemployment of their parents due to COVID-19.

With the schools being allowed to reopen again after the restrictions, arrangements are being made to rent a new school building so that ASP can accommodate more children. With this new space, the school will be able to welcome 80 children at the same time.

In order to give the children a proper education, they need books and that's why you can help!

We are looking to collect primary and secondary test books for children from 5 to 17 years old and for backpacks to care those books. Are you connected with any schools? Do you know someone who is?

Please reach out to us ihelp@riloconnect.com

Not only us, but 80 children in Liberia and all of their family will be so thankful!
