COMPLETED: COVID-19 awareness campaign in Liberia

Updated: May 5, 2020

The whole world is battling the terror of the outbreak of the coronavirus presently as the WHO has declared COVID-19 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

The Ebola epidemic, which was the cause of several deaths in Liberia, is still fresh in our minds. Therefore, we are intensifying our efforts to provide adequate preventive measures and awareness in our fight against stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Liberia.

This awareness exercise is going to last for 3 months. Different methods of educating people against the virus are being implemented such as spreading educative messages through the use of flyers, megaphones and organizing small town hall meeting which only involves representatives from households and is following the rules and protocols that the National Public Health Institute of Liberia has laid down. These meetings will focus on discussing the harmful effects of COVID-19, the myths (lies) being spread about the virus, and the preventive measures that can be taken against the virus. Also, to encourage the washing of hands, washing buckets, soap, and Clorox will be provided to targeted communities.

Required budget: $6,417.84
